Review
This is a quick review
Google SketchUp is software that you can use to create, share and present 3D models. Whether you want to design a new deck for your house, build models for Google Earth, or teach geometry to your fifth-graders, you can use SketchUp to see your ideas in 3D. And when you're done, you can export an image, make a movie or print out a view of what you made.
Google designed SketchUp's simplified toolset, guided drawing system and clean look-and-feel to help you concentrate on: getting your work done as efficiently as possible, and having fun while you're doing it.
Start modeling in SketchUp in less than a day
Even the most powerful tool is useless if you can't figure out how to make it work. Most people get rolling with SketchUp in a couple of hours. Dozens of video tutorials, an extensive Help Center and live training classes mean that anyone who wants to make 3D models with SketchUp, can.
Use SketchUp to model anything you can imagine
Redecorate your living room. Build a volcano for the science fair. Model your business and put it in Google Earth. We designed SketchUp to make it easier for you to think and communicate in 3D. How you decide to use it is entirely up to you. That said, check out the Google 3D Warehouse to see what other people are modeling.
Work in an intuitive way
Instead of making you type coordinates, SketchUp has an advanced guidance system of colors, lines and text hints that help you keep track of where you are and what you're doing. And just like the tools you use in real life, each of SketchUp's small number of tools does a multitude of things. This makes it easier to learn, easier to use and (most importantly) easier to remember how to use.
The following full-length review applies to version 6.0
Google SketchUP is software that allows you to build incredible 3D models in a fast and simple way. It has a complete tutorial in which you can learn how to use all its tools in no time. You can give your first steps exploring the tridimensional design world. Thanks to its simple tools, you can create 3D models of buildings, cars or any other thing you can think of.
SketchUp is an application of 3D design far away the picture we use to have about this utilities as very complicated tools of which very few know all its tricks. Creating a geometric shape is very simple. It's enough with draw a rectangle with the pencil tool and drag it with the mouse to give it volume. From there, is possible to create windows, doors and all kind of shapes you can imagine. Also, it allows to include colors and textures in the models.
SketchUp lets you export your constructions to different graphic formats such as JPG, BMB, TIFF, PNG. Once you have your creations ready, you can save, print on paper or send them to Google Warehouse (a gallery with 3D designs generated with Google SketchUp).
With this application, you can upload your models to Google Earth and this way share them with the rest of the users of this software. If you're capable of create a 3D image of a building or monument of your city, this is the right application for you. |
